23rd-28th August 2026, San Servolo island, Venice, Italy
The 12th edition of the Summer School on Signal Processing (S3P-2026) will adopt the motto “From Signals to Foresight,” underscoring its emphasis on the evolving interplay between Signal Processing and Artificial Intelligence. The school will cover several interconnected topics aimed at exploring the complex relationships between multimedia signal processing and machine learning, examining how methods from each field can mutually benefit one another. International experts from diverse areas will present these issues from multiple perspectives, sharing insights and experiences that include the latest advances in deep learning for image and video processing, media generation and mixed reality, media security and integrity analysis, media compression and representation.
S3P-2026 will take place in Venice, Italy, at the San Servolo Island, at the premises of the Venice International University (univiu.org). The island overlooks the quiet waters of the lagoon, between Saint Mark's Square and Lido, the venue of the International Film Festival. It covers an area of over sixteen-thousand square meters that were once used for vineyards and gardens, within a 10 minute boat journey from the main island using public transportation.
Applications for participation are open and will close on June 30th. The public notice for the S3P-2025 can be found on the University of Florence’s official notice board (Albo Ufficiale).
Attending Speakers International speakers cover a wide range of research fields, from signal and image processing to machine learning, computer vision and computer graphics:
